Pros

Fun coworkers, and great to give tours and meet people

Cons

Inexperienced managers don't offer much in the way of training. Every property is different, so you never know, but it's entirely luck of the draw as to what you get.

Pros

-The company itself is well organized. -All of the properties are very nice and they care about the well being of the residents -You get bonuses and giftcards for making sales -It's never boring because you get to interact with different people everyday -Not a typical "desk job" -There is room for growth, you can become an assistant property manager in a few years

Cons

-When you interview they say you will work a couple weekends a month but that actually means 3 weekends a month. -As a Sales and Marketing Associate, if your property doesn't have a concierge, you will be checking in every package, answering every phone call, and dealing with every maintenance request. They also don't tell you that when you interview. -Sometimes you work alone and it can be stressful when multiple people come into the leasing office at once. -Weird hours (10-7 some weekdays) (8-5 on Fridays) -My bonuses were very low because of the status of my property. They make it sound like you can make a ton of extra money from selling but I think my bonuses were $14 each -You can't really make plans after work because if you're supposed to leave at 7 but someone comes in at 6:50, you need to stay and give them a tour of the property. -There really isn't much marketing involved with the job, more customer service and sales.

Thank you very much for writing a review. We are incredibly fortunate to have experienced tremendous growth that enables us to provide our employees with many opportunities to develop and advance in their careers . Weekend work is common practice in the property management and hospitality industries as we are committed to providing the highest level of service to our communities 7-days a week. Employees who work weekends are able to enjoy 2 days off every work week. Thank you again for your kind words and for being a part of our team!

Pros

This is a privately owned company and they don't have to answer to share holders which allowed them to not have any lay offs during the recession by forgoing raises. They do a great job of hiring nice people and you will like your coworkers as far as personality goes. The company is growing very quickly, is almost recession proof and your job should be secure. They have an annual award show to help recognize outstanding employees and the party afterwards can be a lot of fun. I can't think of any companies that would do anything similar to that.

Cons

Being a privately owned company appears to have a lot more negative affects than it would positive. Unfortunately raises and promotions are not determined by hard work and dedication but rather who you know. I know that is the norm in corporate America but the nepotism at this company incredibly discouraging. Family will always come first for them and you will be pushed aside if necessary. The president speaks of record revenues for this company but come raise time things simply aren't in the budget anymore. The growth of this company is very rapid and they are doing a very poor job of hiring additional staff to to support this growth. The "growing pains" excuse can only work for so long. The entire company appears to be understaffed and overworked. The cumulative affect of these oversights in management has had a serious impact on the overall morale. They strongly encourage you to fill out the best places to work survey, don't fall for their winning streak.
