Pros

Very smart team, where team members and leadership care to make a difference & create something new and build something better every day while also having fun in the process. Great benefits and lots of ways for flexible ways of working.

Cons

While being part of PayPal is of course great for job stability, benefits (like PYPL stock!) etc - the downside is that the sheer size of PYPL can slow things down, and decisions making process can be frustrating, when PYPL sign off is needed. With that said, for a company 3 years after acquisition, Braintree still enjoys most of its freedoms and identity.

Great feedback and thanks for taking the time to let us know what is on your mind. I agree - we need to take the best of "both worlds" and I think we are learning how to do that more and more each day. Please feel free to share any ideas that can help us partner with other parts of the business. Plenty of feedback in slack channels or ping me directly. Shana Sternstein, Head of Talent BT and Venmo

Pros

A dream office, fully equipped with beautiful furniture and everything you could ask for (catered lunch, snack bar, scooters, bar, standing desks, etc). The people are also truly incredible; everyone there are hard workers who are not only great to work with, but are just as fun outside of the office as well.

Cons

Since the PayPal acquisition, corporate arms have slowly seeped into the operations and id of Braintree. This isn't always a good thing. For a company that has touted itself for its transparency, that has been slowly decreasing as more questions from employees have gone unanswered. There's also a tough challenge with favoritism amongst certain teams, which is difficult to overcome when teams are still small as news spreads quite quickly. There's also a growing concern for the company's response to its lack of diversity. The coworkers have attempted to make strides to correct this, but these are people who aren't trained in HR; the company really needs to make a concrete effort to put money and time towards addressing this very valid concern.

Thanks for taking the time to write this review. Diversity and Inclusion are an important area of focus for us and we have made some real strides. We now have a Manager of D&I who reports directly to our CEO, Juan. Our D&I pilar groups are developing a roadmap for 2018 with defined goals. We plan to publish the roadmap and continue to stay focused on this very important work. You have given us some things to think about so again - thanks.
