Though I have only been here for a short time, I have really come to love my job. It’s incredibly demanding work, but I believe that is what makes it rewarding. Everyday poses a new challenge and a new skill to master, so it is far from boring. As a life time athlete, this job has really found a way to emulate what I loved about competing with a team for a common goal — everyday feels like game day. We grind together and we win together and if we lose, we come together. Each day I leave my shift and feel accomplished because I have done something that not everyone is capable of doing and I do it at the sides of people who want to see me succeed as much as they themselves want to succeed.
Cons
- Minimal time off (3, 7 day vacations a year)
- No 401K or retirement plan
- If other stores are struggling the burden will be passed to the stronger stores/partners.
- Though commonplace for the industry, the stores remain open for most holidays (omitting the major holidays — we usually have the day of off) making it very challenging to make enough time to enjoy family or friends if you are from out of town.
