Pros

I joined Braze in the midst of the pandemic and remote work and have continued to be impressed & have all expectations met and truly exceeded. -From my first interview with a recruiter to receiving an offer, everyone I spoke to throughout the process was friendly & genuine, and I received clear communication about next steps & where I stood in the process at each stage. -The product is interesting and drives a real impact for our customers. Due to who our customers are, there is a very high likelihood you've experienced Braze whether or not you know it. -From my first day, I had a very detailed and comprehensive remote onboarding plan showing me what my first three months would look like, and my experience stayed true to the plan. -Everyone I talk to, in every department, is intelligent and thoughtful in their work and interactions with colleagues.

Cons

I truly have not came across any cons.

Pros

I've been lucky enough to see the company grow up from a handful of people to nearly 200 employees. Two things motivate me everyday working at Braze - the people and the product. No matter what office you step into, you'll find a group of intelligent, hard-working, and compassionate people solving challenging problems. Employees at Braze also continually display empathy toward one another and clients. The product really differentiates Braze from it's competition. Whether you're looking to invest in your technical skills, learn more about marketing or understand data better, there's an opportunity to do so learning the product here.

Cons

Working at a fast-growing technology company can be demanding and Braze is no exception.

Pros

Braze serves a critical use case for a wide variety of customers. Many of your favorite companies use Braze. It is nice to work in a system where high throughput and reliability are core concerns for customers, not just the engineers.

Cons

The work-life balance has headed downhill. Low level managers are burnt out and are not able to have focused goals. Both ICs as well as low level managers are working much harder for lower pay. As a result execution suffers. I expect attrition to follow. Second, in the name of “compliance” we are not allowed to do automated deployments anymore. Previously deployments used to be flawless, nowadays there’s a human error in our manual deployments almost every week. The tradeoff that the higher levels of management made here - removing automated deployments in the name of “compliance” boggles my mind and reduces trust in the decision making. Finally, there are limited channels to share feedback like this with management. We get comments like this “that’s not very productive”.
