Pros
If you're on the direct service side, the tenants are the reason to be there - they're why most social service workers are in the field they are.
Cons
The pay is awful for this kind of work in NYC, and Breaking Ground's management has no appreciation for those working on the ground at the housing sites. Higher-ups would argue about any overtime on timesheets, even when they required it around recertification time. Also, BG doesn't honor their own policies - set organizational policies around staff advancement are disregarded in favor of promoting from within on management's own whims, while meanwhile they'll write up staff in a second for an e-mail sent to a staffperson who's "above one's rank". Hypocritical all around.
