      Pros

      A small, close and somewhat diverse community of people working together to achieve breakthroughs in the semiconductor industry.

      Cons

      Not given enough resources by management to achieve the breakthroughs, so employees have to break their backs to compensate. They don't share the pay of employees to keep everyone's pay low. Two people can have the same job and be paid wildly different depending when you started or where you work.
