Pros

Bridgestone is an old school manufacturing organization in the middle of a cautious, long-term modernization program. There are many warm, welcoming, team-oriented elements of Bridgestone culture that I love and appreciate. There are also some excellent product teams and technologists working hard to bring pieces of the Bridgestone Mobility Solutions vision to fruition.

Cons

Warm and welcoming elements do have trade-offs. For instance, there's a large amount of time and effort invested in reorganization. For instance, Bridgestone Mobility Solutions experienced three major reorganizations throughout the past under two years. This isn't inherently a con but your response depends on your adaptability to change. Middle management is a deep and distributed layer in the company as well. Again, this is not strictly speaking a "con" but it is a reality that generates trade-offs like: not being able to move as quickly to create and ship products / features, lots of opinions but few decisions, consensus-driven thinking vs. customer-driven thinking, etc

Pros

Decent pay and typical benefits.

Cons

Management changes. Your progress in moving up, depends on what the current manager sees. You pretty much start from zero every time someone new shows up. I've asked to be trained in an area to better understand my current job, but they are more interested that you learn other areas so their friends/employees can call out.

Pros

Great pay. Staff is great to work with.

Cons

Little or no training on the machines - it's all what you can pick up verbally since nothing is written down. No diagrams for wiring systems and few things are labeled in the cabinets. So hand over hand tracing of wires is the only way a new hire can find a broken component. Safety doesn't understand the machines. They're supposed to be experts who teach and enforce safety. Instead they sign off on safety proceedures without knowing if they'll even work and just look for reasons to fire people. 3. Lack of resources. STs need computers and carts to do their job but the company only provides the bare minimum (fewest cheap computers and fewsest carts).
