      Bottom line driven cost cutting

      Pros

      Stock was soaring, hit a split and has crashed since. But still a good dividend generator. Anyone who works here is incentivised with RSUs and not necessarily top salary.

      Cons

      No innovation, just aquisition. Ruthless cost cutting may help the business but not necessarily their customers. Basically laying off whole groups in the US and pushing maintenance to India is not a great long term play.

      Pros

      Great pay and compensation plan

      Cons

      CEO is greedy, close minded, old fashioned and stuck in his ways, does not care about the big picture when it comes to people. Very close minded and shallow vision when it comes to emerging technologies. CEO is a very, very shrude business man, which can be detrimental when that sword is pointed internally.

      Pros

      Pay and RSUs are very generous for Sales and Sales Engineering positions, much higher than other companies

      Cons

      The high pay combined with ruthless continual layoffs of former VMware people results in a constant feeling of being trapped in a golden prison. You know that you could be the next person kicked out the door, but you also know you're not going to find a similar salary at other software companies. No feeling of sympathy or empathy from upper management, they only care about "what have you done today to increase shareholder value?"
