Pros

There are many talented engineers at Broadcom that work very hard to try to make Broadcom successful.

Cons

It appears that many managers were promoted to management based on their technical accomplishments regardless of the people and management skills. As a result, it seems that many of the managers are lacking in management skills. As the company gets bigger, HR seems to play a larger and larger role. It seems like they are trying to correct some of the problems, but the means are not always the best. Total compensation for lower level individuals appears to be falling as stock compensation drops off. Upper management gets plenty of compensation.

Pros

Good benefits, nice gym and flexible work schedules.

Cons

Sometimes there is a lot of stress and pressure. Will have to work nights and weekends and it's more of a thankless job. You don't really learn a lot and they don't really train you. Lack of career advancement and salary raises are minimal.
