Pros

1. Exposure to client facing situations 2. Insight into change management and impact analysis 3. Helps you learn, to manage work under pressure and stressful situations 4. Support engineer profile more suited for people who enjoy multitasking

Cons

1. Not much of growth opportunities 2. Better to be part of the development team who have better growth cycle in terms of learning 3. Support engineers are not given enough flexibility to learn new technologies or attain business knowledge 4. Pay is OK but at the appraisals even the good performers are given a low hike in salary 5. Cant complain regarding work-life balance as it is the same in any kind of profile
