Pros

I have nothing positive to report about this company other than whilst under contract with them my salary was paid into my bank weekly with no issues.

Cons

I've been on two assignments with Brook Street and I have to say they are one of the worst agencies out there. They do however manage to secure some good clients, generally government sector roles so when you are posted the work is never fast paced or challenging it's usually slow and requires very little effort or commitment. You realise what you're in for the first time you step into their office. The business model for this company is to hire cheap labour, it was my first observation, the office is full of teenagers pretending to be 'recruitment consultants'. This of course leads to a totally incompetent workforce and I also noticed a very high staff turnover because one week 'so and so' was your point of contact, the next week it was someone else because 'so and so' had gone, you get the picture. When you're in post there is no concern for your welfare, you get very little contact from Brook Street and you are at the mercy of the client who they posted you to, this can leave you feeling very unsupported and isolated. On my second assignment they did however allocate a 'Manager' to the assignment. So, there were eighty staff ranging from the ages of twenty to sixty and the 'Manager' they sent for bi-weekly visits was a nineteen year old teenager, she was neither qualified or experienced enough to be given this responsibility nor was English her first language. On her visits to the office no one went to see her or bring any issues or problems to her, in fact one of her best friends was on this particular assignment and they spent the entire time in an office laughing and joking. If any issues arise Brook Street throw you under the bus and suck up to the client in order to keep contracts, like I stated previously, you are a dispensable commodity and you will be made to feel that way. If you're desperate and only intend to stay for a short time I'd say sign up to one of their assignments but in the mean time keep looking for work and get out of there before your mental health deteriorates.
