You are surrounded by highly intelligent people (60% of the time) Brown is very engaged locally, beautiful office space to host events. Very collegial culture, morning meetings with a light breakfast bar. Brown has many connections that if you lean into, you may find yourself in rooms you never thought you'd be in. There are some wonderful opportunities to network, learn and grow as a professional simply because of the brand Brown Advisory. Brown also takes really intentional efforts to care for colleagues. You won't need to bring lunch at all for a few weeks but beware of the "Brown 15".

Cons

Brown tries really hard to show it's "Diversity". In a morning meeting if you look around the room you may see <10 people of color. Hiring practices don't always make sense either, Brown promotes hiring "the best talent" which often times means someone who is connected to a current colleague or someone who is the child of a client/partner at the firm. No way around it, it is a private firm. If you don't like it, leave. Processes at Brown are also a pain point, there are sometimes way more steps than necessary to solve a simple issue. Could be a side-effect of complacency or just a "the last 10 years for us have been spectacular we aren't changing what isn't broken..."
