Pros

-Normally a very easy job. -Low Stress -Happy Environment -Fun to work with the customers and the like

Cons

It was very difficult to ask for any time off after the first time. The managers seemed to be very angry about the idea of it and when I had to take a day off without prior knowledge due to my girlfriend's trip to the emergency room I almost got fired on the spot. It was a singular occurrence yet I received negative feedback about my "professionalism" and "commitment" towards my work. The odds of me choosing to work there again are very low. Received no severance pay or Christmas bonus, simply was allowed to leave after my last day.

Not For Me

Pros

Very rare to find an angry or rude customer, and my particular store started me with a nice hourly pay. (It was my first job, so it was nice at the time). 30% discount

Cons

Barely any hours. I worked no more than four times a week, and my longest shift was a 5 hour shift and that was only one time. When I was hired... so were 40 other people (LITERALLY!). The store was under renovation for 2 months, and in between that time they fired a lot of people, and clearly hired more than necessary. My store location was a popular one, so we were very busy on weekends... weekdays not so much though. With that being said, we were not allowed to talk to each other while on the floor because it was unprofessional. I got in trouble for asking a co-worker if a certain item was in her section. GIVE ME A BREAK! OHHH and I understand we have to wear uniform, but to tell me what color socks to wear... HA!
