Pros

-Remote first company -PTO policy -Promote within -Market leader for a product

Cons

Where to start…? The golden squishy bulls and a face on a slide deck for recognition is absolutely a slap in the face. Employees work hard, put in extra hours for customers, support partners, and their atta boy is a recognition on a company slide deck. Employees should be compensated better. Both in salary and in recognition for hard work. The product leadership strategy is misguided. Product owners are not owners of their product but simply a bypass to getting epics done. Product managers are really making decisions on roadmap and not understanding the actual vision to the dev team. Product owners aren’t in front of customers and don’t get to hear pain points. Lack of merit raises for employees. It didn’t keep up with inflation while I was there. Top talent is leaving the building weekly.

At Bullhorn, Product owners are critical to the success of their product missions and sprint teams. They are not a "bypass" - they are the leaders that carry the product & feature vision to the developers. POs have the critical job of ensuring that the feature development is broken down into appropriate milestones and that each milestone is clearly defined both in customer value & development acceptance criteria. High-performing teams at Bullhorn have a very tight relationship & communication between Product Manager & Product Owner that includes participation in product strategy decisions. I'm truly sorry that wasn't your experience here & am happy to talk live if you feel that would be of value.
