The Definition of A Toxic Work Environment

Pros

Most of the time the hours are truly 9-6.

Cons

Your experience varies by team but the failings of an ineffective upper management team are felt by all. No one in a leadership position at this company knows what is going on and is afraid to admit it. There is no plan. The company blessed us with frequent performative seminars on preventing burnout when at best BDG is a content factory that churns out both content and burns through people like wildfire. I have seen souls extinguished at this place. The programming is void of any unique POV or interesting original stories- sole interest lies in fluffy click bait. Not to mention managers do not create a safe space for pitching new ideas. Management plays favorites and if you’re not one of them it’s all but guaranteed that you will not grow with this company. Unlimited PTO is not real and is met with pushback from team leaders. Projects are under resourced. The sellers are favored and everyone else is just another number that can be let go at any second. Ceo is all but absent save for sending cryptic emails once a quarter. HR is also unhelpful and the benefits are wack- half a dozen apps are required to even access your benefits that are not generous compared to other companies I’ve worked for. Also, the primary method of communication is MANIC SLACKING. It was like people would forget there was another human on the other end. If you value your mental health run the other way. Don’t waste your time here.
