Pros

Some of the people are incredible, if you can dig through the crowd of bad.

Cons

Nothing I could write could effectively communicate how much my job at Bustle broke me. The management is flat out horrible, from senior editors to company leads. No one at the top has the required experience to be in their positions. HR is constantly taking information provided in confidence and sharing it without consent to managers. There is no diversity, and any sense of feminist values is just for clicks. It is impossible to move up, and managers don't foster growth. Rather, they blame you for their errors and the results of their poor management. There is no loyalty, no communication, and a relentless mean-girl culture. Work-life balance isn't great, and pay is low for the industry. I wish I would have never taken this job.

Pros

Good location, decent snacks, close to subways.

Cons

Bustle is a company that 'says' they are all about empowering women- yet that couldn't be further from how they operate. The company is run by young and inexperienced people and the office is a place where 'mean girls' and cliques are a part of the culture. The company as a whole is clueless about video. Poor hr staff- employees have no real support. Poor upper management who care more about power and titles instead of quality work.
