Pros

exposed to lots of cool people

Cons

They don't really care about their contract part-timers, and treat us like second class citizens.

Pros

The fastest sinking ship in media!

Cons

If you are reading this, run. Not only will you be overworked, but you will be underpaid. The rest of the world knows Bustle is a joke, and it is not worth your mental health to have them on your resume. There is zero room to grow, and zero mentorship. Every day you will watch your friends get fired, and wonder if you're next. I have several questions for management: -Why don't you hire POC? You tout inclusivity and yet I can count the number of non-white folks on one hand. (Many of which are in glorified janitorial positions...not in any kind of leadership). -Why do you keep buying up publications with ZERO plan with what to do with them? Literally from day-to-day basic operations down to employee care, there is no plan. Everyone is bitter, everyone is scared, and I've seen people crying at their desks because they're trying to do their job, but there's no clear system to communicate with internal teams, resulting in a very SLOW, painful, impossibly confusing process. -Why don't you invest in people that are trying to make things better? Everyone I knew who was working to change things for the better has been swiftly fired. Bustle is not sustainable, the current model is failing, and nobody wants to put aside their pride to find solutions. -Where is the creativity???? You cant lean on the "reach" number forever...there needs to be some creative thinking to win new business. -Why do you pretend to be feminist, when give power to racist, homophobic, fake woke leaders? Every day is gaslighting.
