Pay is horrible for maintenance mechanics and theres pretty much no opportunity to move up unless you're in the "buddy program" such as fishing buddies with this person, this persons cousin, etc. If you go to work, try to do a good job, have good work ethic, grow in your role, continually expand your skillset, etc...That's not enough, gotta know someone. Lots of stealing. Most maintenance managers rob this company y blind through kickbacks, friends businesses, buying thing for personal use with company assets, etc. Hr doesnt care. Everyone knows what goes on here, nobody does anything and nothing ever changes. The IMT system and its payscale is a complete joke. Your "trainers" couldnt work anywhere other than this place and keep a job. Lots of driftwood aka, dead weight, place holders, gophers, etc. Plant has around 200 "IMT's"...Out of that 200 you probably have 30 good mechanics so if you're seasoned and a go getter...Expect to get used and abused. I've seen kids here fresh out of high school that I wouldnt personally hire to bag groceries get in maintenance through the "buddy program" go try to use a no-name meter, looked to be Fisher Price, in a 480v panel having absolutely no idea what they were looking at or for. Real top heavy. Way too many chiefs vs Indians, especially in the utilities/ facilities (kings of corruption) side of things.
