Toxic work environment

Pros

Most people at the company were hard working and were very helpful.

Cons

Where do I begin....upper management are immature they treat everyone like they are children. Management will use passive aggressive tactics to address the entire client services team and individual employees. Clearly they are surrounded by too many recent college grads which is clearly affecting the way they manage. They play favorites if you are not on their list they will make your life extremely difficult. They hire most people straight out of college which makes the working envirmonent very immature even if you have been in the workforce for a few years. C-4 is consistantly having to do 'save the client' presentations which is pretty much creating 250 slide powerpoints that the client doesn't even care for and lying about data to make it look better. The fact that they consistanly lose clients show you the lack of accounibility in the client services department. The way discipline is dolled out at C-4 is extremely unprofessional. They do not confront employees when something is wrong with their work instead they talk behind your back and basically build up a list so they can embarass you in front of other employees. A lot of the Senior Account Managers and Account Managers have way too much on their plate and have no idea how to manage anything. The reasons I have mentioned are a huge reason why C-4 is the most toxic working environment I have ever been a part of. Everyone is stressed out and miserable and they try to cover it up by having 'beer fridays' and other social events. Avoid C-4 if you can you want to be part of a company that is invested in your growth and development. Not a company that treats you based on your attractiveness or your ability to be "cool".

I’m senior and proud of it!

Pros

Let me say at the outset that I’m a senior and proud of it. I love this job and worked hard to get to where I am. I’m proud of the work we do, the results we get, and the successes we’ve had. I’m also proud of the work that I do. This is a real review and no one asked me to write it. In fact, I had no intention of ever writing a review here. This is true for a number of reasons. Until now, I just really didn’t care about this site. But I just read the review that posted today and was compelled to drop everything to respond. Not for the company, not for the potential candidates, not to “get ahead”, but for myself. We all understand that this page is a forum for the poor, sad, underprivileged and misunderstood FORMER employees to exploit anonymity to reveal to the world all the reasons which anyone but themselves should be blamed for their unsuccessful employment with C-4. Recent examples include aggressive emails with ALL CAPITALS in them, switching out paper towels to the non-leading brand, your good work going unnoticed, etc. The thing that all these “bad” reviews have in common is that they all blame the company for ALL the failures of the people who are no longer with C-4. Read them, it’s always the company’s “fault,” their seniors’ “fault,” managements “fault.” I wouldn’t say C-4 or any company is perfect, but I really enjoy the work, the people and the culture here. I like the work I do and I love the people I do it with. I love when my clients win because that is a win for everyone on our team. I’ve watched the company grow for a small scrappy startup to a major force in the digital marketing industry. And I got to be part of that.

Cons

This job is hard. It’s busy, sometimes disorganized and the work piles up. We’ve grown a lot and they put in an entire new layer of management. Management promoted from within the company. Some of us are still better at handling client accounts and doing the work than managing our peers. I apologize if I’m one of those individuals. Clients are sometimes unreasonable, deadlines are often unreasonable and senior management is usually unreasonable. Work/life balance isn’t always great. Some of these themes are accurately stated in some negative reviews. Most of these themes are way over-exaggerated in most reviews.
