Pros

Upper management does not care about tutors at all, not at all surprising. It's a money-making venture. I happen to work at one of the most successful centers in the country, so I've learned from incredible teachers and worked under a good sales team for most of tenure. New sales team isn't as successful.

Cons

Upper level management (above my sales team) raised my pay considerably because my director advocated on my behalf. They have since slowly been lowering it, though I'm supposed to get periodic raises.

Competitive pay for tutoring that are slightly above national average; paid preparation (not seen in many other companies); good place to get foot in door for education; guaranteed to get good hours if you teach a few subjects; team-building is fun; coworkers are fun to be around; very gratifying to see students learn and build confidence

Cons

last second changes to scheduling is a headache and very hard to envision steady growth within business contract for part timers; on-job training isn't sufficient for success (very hard to navigate around resources and feels hard to pick up where other tutors leave off with students)
