Pros

I have worked at various C2 offices for the last 7 years. I have met some great people and had the privilege of tutoring lots of amazing kids. The pay is better than many tutoring companies and I enjoy not having to interact with the parents all the time. It is great as a second job.

Cons

Some directors are not nice to work with and they can change often in a location that is owned by corporate. The franchises are nicer to work with. Hours are irregular and can be cancelled at a moment's notice. No benefits. No opportunities for advancement

Challenging but Rewarding

Pros

--You work with bright individuals that are truly passionate about helping children. --You will develop close relationships with the children. I had a little 1st grade boy bring me a Christmas present nicely wrapped. He thanked me for being an "everyday hero". --You will learn more about a variety of subjects since C2 does not solely cater to the SAT/ACT, though that is a focus. --Pay is consistent and management is very willing to accommodate and allow flexibility as long as you warn in advance.

Cons

--Hours and Scheduling. The management at my center had a problem with giving enough hours to tutors. In all fairness, they would sometimes give only 1, maybe 2 students to me so I would log hours even though they promote a 3:1 learning setting. --If you are tutoring 3 different subjects to students at 3 grade levels (Ex: 4th Grade, Algebra, and SAT Verbal, things can get tricky real fast! You want to divide your time fairly but sometimes, you don't have the time.

Pros

Great students, understanding supervisor, overall relaxed environment (although there are much busier centers), occasional paid-for lunches or dinners during meetings, don't have to go to students' houses

Cons

Inconsistent hours as somebody else has said, frequent cancellations or last-minute schedule changes, the pay is much lower than that of other tutoring centers, 3 to 1 classes can be hectic
