Pros

-if they like you, you can get as many hours as you're willing to take on -if you do well and establish yourself as a good tutor, you're given quite a bit of freedom in terms of your style of teaching. once you establish a rhythm, the 3-on-1 isn't too bad

Cons

-you basically have to accept that you are a part of a company (within a much larger for-profit industry) that is eroding our educational system. Make no mistake, C2 is all about the bottom line. They extract an exorbitant amount of money from these clueless/concerned/competitive parents and pass a small crumb of it along to the most essential part of their money-making machine: the tutor. On every level tutors are made to feel expendable. -the notes are excessive and asinine -the curriculum is riddled with mistakes because it's modified questions lifted from other test-prep books -as others have mentioned: lack of communication, unreasonable expectations, no positive feedback, last-minute schedule changes -good directors know how to properly set up classes, but in the wrong hands 3-to-1 becomes a nightmare -ugly/drab decor and tiny workspaces make C2 feel (as someone else mentioned) a "sweatshop" -even tiny things like lack of bathroom supplies (paper towels, air freshener, soap) and using the cheapest of pencils until they are barely usable shows you how much of the company vision is focused on making the most money possible at the expense of students and tutors

Congratulations on being with the company over 3 years - that's really great! Its good to hear that you've been able to make the flexible schedule and individualized approach to tutoring work for you. I'm really sorry to hear that you have such a negative impression of your work environment. If you haven't already, please reach out to your regional leadership team to address your concerns. We believe in our students and their potential for greatness - as the new CEO, I am focused on leading the team forward to expand and grow the business with improved communication and training for our teachers. There is so much opportunity for you to grow and develop within this high-growth company and maximize the impact on our students' lives every day. Please know that your curriculum represents the combined efforts of a team with years of experience in the arena of education, especially test preparation. The team takes special care to consider the application of all materials for students and tutors since each member of the team has experience teaching using the C2 model.

Pros

Excellent flexibility when it comes to your schedule. Alright pay if you have students to teach. Use your own independent teaching style. Access to their course material. Little to no parent interaction.

Cons

The center director greatly influences your work schedule when you start out. She sets up the students you meet up with and when.
