Pros

CALIBRE is "Employee Owned". Self development is not only encouraged, but rewarded as well. There is a wide array of career paths to choose from. Training opportunities are plentiful. Extracurricular activities and community outreach are supported. Salaries are better than average. Bonuses are offered. The personal time off and leave allotments are offered up front and better than average. Flexible work schedules and offsite work (home offices) are supported. Our customers are very happy with the levle of service we provide and that promotes a sense of self confidence, satisfaction and fulfillment at the end of the day.

Cons

The contract services field can be erratic at times and though we are "corporate" employees, we must have a contract vehicle to support most of our positions. Working away from the HQ can sometime lead to feelings of being left out of the loop. Reaction time to ideas and leads from customer site employees is often prolonged and opportunites are sometimes missed.

Cons

Contracting shop may be too small. Responsiveness not keeping up with growing requirements. Not a lot of upward mobility but it is possible. Much of that is contract based. You have to be willing to move. That's life

Pros

- Great employee-owners. It feels like a true team. People want to help each other succeed. - Great benefits: 401K matching, life and disability insurance provided, employee stock ownership plan, generous leave (provided in full on first day, not earned each pay period) - Committment to employee development. Good training programs to include an in house university - Very easy/convenient distributed operating environment. Most employees are not at the corporate office. The IT dept is great at providing a home office technology package (and supporting it!) - Great leadership at the Operational VP level and below.

Cons

- Rapid growth has been difficult because the company is still too centralized in its decision making. Corporate leaders need to delegate more to the VPs - Contracting and sub contracting staff is too small - No centralized proposal management shop makes every proposal more painful than it needs to be - Even though it is an Employee Owned company it still feels like a public or privately held company when it comes to profits, fees, sales, and revenue. It sometimes takes away from the satisfaction of just doing great work for the customer.
