Pros

Excellent training programs, access to marketing materials, support from national office, referrals from other offices, clearly defined goals for achieving the next level.

Cons

Offices run independently, management skill varies, corporate is interested in corporate goals, local office interested in their local goals, this can create a conflict of interest.

Pros

Good benefits, place for growth, interesting projects, knowledgable team, most seniors and managers are happy to help, good training, ability to take long vacation paid or unpaid.

Cons

After NSHD was aquired by the CBIZ, everything went down the hill. The office became way too political and clicky. It was who you know and who likes you in the management ranks that determined your future projects and career growth. Employees were viewed as numbers and dispensable items. Team-building activities were cut short or completely eliminated in order to keep up with the budget, which became the main focal point of all meetings, discussions, etc. Recent layoffs completely killed employee moral and motivation. People are afraid of future lay offs. Overall, the place lost its reputation of a great place to work.

Good benefits, somewhat flexible schedule, good vacation/sick time off, knowlegable management, nice offices, allow you to take unpaid time off.

Cons

Competitive environment, very critical self evaluations, directors are aloof and intimidating, can be very clicky at times, favoritism, many expectations from seniors.
