Job security during contract terms.

Cons

You will be an employee of CBRE but 90% of employees with the company are contractual. CBRE signs a contract with Amazon, Microsoft, or another company for a certain period of time offering certain services. Your job is mostly secure during this time. Your work/life balance changes after every contract renewal as CBRE looses more and more grounds and performance expectations rise. This continues until the demands are impossible and/or CBRE looses the contract.

Cons

All aspects of the company and culture are variable based on client and departments. Engineering teams are “old school” when it comes to hiring practices, leading to working with majority friends and family with little diversity (in spite of corporate policies and DEI initiatives) Can be too tolerant of abusive clients or management depending on the sector or account.
