Lowballs all employees because they are the only tech company in the peninsula, making IT professionals desperate for work. Had joined the team and started with the new IT manager the same day, who kept pushing assigned reading on us that would be more geared towards upper management. Same manager ended up leaving the team within 6 months. The team its self had little to no organization or documentation, and apparently had been due to the entire IT team being there for less than 1 year. Just before I'd left, they had fired a 'senior' tech after he'd completed exhaustive work on a project and subjecting him to a random drug test that he'd failed. Not to support drug use, but the state has legalized use of recreational marijuana of which he'd tested positive for and was subsequently fired for. Additionally, another senior tech is related to the director of IT, which calls to question the Nepotism rules in the company handbook.
