Pros

Using a W-2 less hassle than reporting on 1099 and I like my assignment at the company I report to every day. I'd give that experience a 4 star review.

Cons

I'm contracted out with ZERO support from CDI management. I only hear from them if I have a layoff to deal with and then it's usually weeks after any of the other contractors get their notice. No raise in over 5 years - not even an increase in days off with pay - which are only 3 sick days a year as it is. I've heard that they do not help in placing you should your contract be terminated. I've had at least 4 handlers in 5 years and they barely know my name or can answer any question I've asked, which really isn't many, probably less than 10.

Sigh....It's not Worth It

Pros

If your manager is cool then your work/life balance is good, as long as you work 8 hours. They provide free fruit, but water is tapped straight from the city into a cooler/heater containers. So much for filtered water.

Cons

We have only 1 customer, GE Aviation. So if GE decides to withdraw work then you have no work. Told to go home and not get paid or in some instances fired. There have been 3 Director of Operations in the past 3 years. Seems like no one wants to stick around. Well the 1st one that was here when I started was fired because someone had to take the blame for the VP's failures. We have a Director of Business Development who is supposed to be finding work whether it is in GE Aviation or outside of GE. We had one before that didn't find any work, he got fired. This guy is doing the same job, getting paid 6 figures, and not finding squat. Got a 2% raise after not getting any for the past 3 years. Apparently everyone else did as well. We had a reorg a year ago. Got a new VP that came and talked big stuff and guess what? We haven't heard squat from her in that years’ time. Benefits are the worst, but seems like a lot of contractor companies in the area have the same deals. Bottom line: This is a contract company. Get used to being promised big things and then having the rug pulled from under you. If you are a retiree (living off SS and savings) and don't really care that there is sporadic work, then have at it. Otherwise if you have a family and depend on getting paid based on a 40hr week then this company is a serious gamble. I would not advise. Other statements about the Cincinnati branch are point on. I see no future and the sooner I get out the better.
