      -Variety of projects to get your hands on -Flexible working environment (option to WFH) -Managers don't micromanage -Friendly coworkers

      Cons

      -Getting work assigned to you takes time, you will sit idle for 1-3 weeks before finding stable work -Unsustainable deadlines -Boring FEMA floodplain mapping projects -Difficult to find meaningful/satisfying work -Project Managers are inundated with work -Unequal flow of work more if you work in a major hub (Boston, Chicago, Denver) less if stationed in smaller office -Documentation of GIS workflows/guides are non-existent meaning you will often get thrown on a project with no idea how to do it.

      Pros

      Stable company, industry leader, good staff. They make an effort to be an employee-oriented organization.

      Cons

      It's like stepping back in time. Not a lot of flexibility for families. Not much diversity at all. When I had my first child, i was repeatedly talked to for "taking too much time" to pump in the privacy room and told I would need to make up that time. Meanwhile, the guys in their 20s napping and nursing hangovers were not treated that way.
