      Stick it out the first year and you'll be fine.

      Pros

      There is a lot of money to be made at CDW if you're willing to put in the effort. They say you will want to quit this job three times during your first year. This is true but if you can stick it out, you'll see the rewards. I get the feeling that people who talk bad about this job didn't have the drive or motivation to work. You can not be afraid to pick up the phone and call people that most times do not want to speak to you. That's just part of the job. If you can get past that part, you'll be fine.

      Cons

      Low base salary for the first year. If you can manage your finances for one year, you should be ok.

      Pros

      Go there for the training, use it as a stepping stone. Continuous training and resources. Right out of school this is a huge opportunity. Perks like crazy, parties, free goodies, and setting up business connections. Unless you're prepared to devote everything to the place and live on nothing and wait, get the most of what you can then move on. The training is worth so much.

      Cons

      Your manager can make or break you. The largest accounts are completly controlled by management and given only to those that show their worth. You will find opportunities of your own, the big stuff is out there and owned. These guys are 4+years most cases. The goals are huge, sure they are attainable at times. Basing the worth of a customer on their past sales? Alot of these customers make a one time purchase of Microsoft and you spend the whole year chasing tail.

      Lets see...they say their benefits package is good but coming from other companies it sucks, their base pay sucks, you make no money unless you get those spiffs, they hire anyone they can, the accounts just get passed from person to person, you just stay there till you find a better gig.
