Cons
HR and other corporate functions really really really need people to do the forward thinking work we need to do. There are whole teams of dozens of people just hanging on by a thread fractions away from a single point of failure because we don’t have enough people to work or knowledge share. It’s getting comically lean. Managers are overburdened in this environment as well having to lean in to all sorts of areas of work because of lack of resourcing but unable to lean into their team and their needs. Totally unsustainable. And forget about good pay, raises, promotions - the executive band is an extremely exclusive club for corporate workers.
