Best job I've ever had

Pros

Work from home lifestyle. Even though I'm yet to meet my teammates we all have a great working relationship. Amazing benefits, and great support from the team. The job itself can have some stress at times, but for the most part it's awesome.

Cons

The only negative I would say is that there is limited training. They usually tell you this in your interview. You get assigned a "buddy" who will help you learn the job. Fortunately I had an awesome person train me so I have learned my job well.

Pros

Decent pay. Local restaurants around the Deteoit passport office are good.

Cons

Got a very bare minimum amount of training and left to fend for myself in an unfamiliar environment. Not once did I feel like CGI had my back or best interest in terms of helping me succeed in my position. Also not related specifically to the job itself but I had assigned over 50 tasks to complete from HR on my own, most of which I should have had in person assistance with. If you accept a position here be sure you know how to swim because you will be dropped alone in the middle of the ocean.

Pros

Great health insurance, 401K benefits, and wonderful profit sharing program. Management listens to employees and is promotes from within. They have internal training systems that are wonderful.

Cons

CGI Federal is the Business Unit I worked for and they place no value on education or experience. The managers are taught to maintain status quo - no innovation. They will listen to you and encourage you to promote your ideas but are quite frank when saying they will not change. Promotions are issued according to friendships and those willing to create a fuss. Being mixed race it didn't affect me but I watched over the course of a year and +50 hires, not a single white person was hired in my division.
