Pros

The only positive to working here is that it connected me with someone who helped me find my next job.

Cons

I gave this organization one star as zero was not an option. This is by far the most unprofessional, hostile organization I have ever worked for. Leaders manage through intimidation and fear. Associates are poorly trained, poorly compensated and overwhelmingly dissatisfied. Associates are held responsible for coming up to speed in their new jobs with little to no orientation and inadequate tools/resources to do their jobs effectively. The words "he/she just needs to go" are common here. During my time at CHRISTUS Health, I've seen an associate terminated due to a protected medical condition and have seen other leaders try to actively "manage out" individuals on approved Family Medical Leave. I typically read Glass Door and have often thought that the bad reviews are just from angry, poor performing employees who are probably disgruntled for no good reason. I'm here to tell you as someone who prides them-self in hard work, honesty and doing the right thing that you should not walk but run from this organization.

Crusty Culture at Christus

Pros

They tend to pay above market value for most jobs. Onsite cafeteria/convenience store and free wellness clinic for employees and their families.

Cons

So glad to be leaving this crazy place behind me. I've never worked for a place as antagonistic as Christus. Your experience will greatly depend on team placement, as no department really follows a set of professional standards. Some teams are completely toxic and refuse onboarding, training, decency. I'd say best case scenario for an employee without friends/family at Christus is working a dead end job with pleasant team members. Worst case scenario is a team that serves as a daycare for damaged adults who expect everyone to babysit their dysfunctional egos. Smearing, bullying, theft, physical altercations, public humiliation, cyber stalking, you name it. More recently, an "initiative" to spam job boards with fluffy company reviews has become a "recommended" effort at Christus. Form, with no substance - which is exactly what you can expect if you take a job with this organization.

Too many toxic people

Pros

A few charitable events, onsite cafeteria, some good coworkers

Cons

Management within the corporate office in Irving, TX is useless. Some of the most fraudulent, narcissistic people I have ever had this misfortune of working with. I witness psychologically abusive events practically every day. You could be physically abused onsite and I doubt HR would raise an eyebrow. Management hires other toxic individuals to serve as their watchdogs. No one is paying attention to just how much money and effort is being wasted at corporate and the hardworking nurses and hospital staff end up being the ones hurt the most by all the corruption. This is not a review of the hospital system itself at Christus, but the business side is just rotten to the core. Bless the front line workers, I hope in the near future they get the corporate representatives they deserve, who genuinely work on their behalf. God's wisdom has nothing to do with the corporate office, there are just way too many people giving others hell.
