Pros

Its a hospital so depending on the dept money can be made. Of course nurses make good money but other department pay very low in comparison to other hospitals at same positon

Cons

Hard to advance, unless you know someone high up like, its all about who you know. The starting salary is horrible.

Pros

Pay was pretty good/comparable to standard in community. Rich history of company. Non-profit and really tries to serve the underserved in the community.

Cons

Very poor communication - an employee is there one day, the next day a memo is sent out saying that employee resigned "effective immediately" leading to much gossip and many rumors and speculation. This happened often. Morale is very low among many staff members. Managers/directors being asked to do too much administrative work and are unable to focus on patient care and care of staff. Frequent travel and "education" opportunities for senior level people, but nothing for "regular" staff.

Pros

They have many job openings for nurses and therapists. Can get in the door easily and quickly. Benefits are comparable to some other area hospitals. Faith-based hospital with some old traditions continuing. No parking fees for patients.

Cons

Lack of respect and support for middle management. Middle management afraid to speak up due to high risk in this area. Oppositonal thinking discouraged even with team building exercises. Hostile work environment with very high turnover. Lack of profitability with blame shifted downward while key people who caused (and continue to cause) financial woes are left blameless. Patient satisfaction very low in scoring and evident in day-to-day activities on patient floors. Recent decreases in benefit packages, and salaries have caused more turnover in key areas. Corporate takeover evident with emphasis on profit rather than community service, quality of care and patient satisfaction. Employee satisfaction at all time low. Core values in limbo.
