Assistant Showroom Manager (Former) Review

Pros

A great place for young adults to get their first sales experience. They do truly promote and empower young individuals to be leaders - A great "resume builder".

Cons

The unfortunate side of that is lack of experience and even team collaboration in the individuals showrooms, since most college students are lacking experience, and most veterans are petulant over managers being younger/inexperienced. It's unfortunate but the reviews below alluding to favoritism are true, having been for over three years in their management program I can tell you that when you are working under someone who see value in you you excel, however it is luck of the draw which showroom you are sent to and one move can hinder your growth no matter how consistent you are with your work. You will experience cliques, and catty behaviors as most sales organizations have. If you can muscle through you will come out on the other side with some great experience, tough skin, ready for true career. They preach to recruiters that they are happy if they "get 5 years from an MIT", but parade the success stories of the manager who have been "lifers" to give young individuals a sense of security.

Pros

Great training program, great people to work with, emphasis on associates being primary stakeholders.

Cons

I signed up to be a Manager in Training for Operations Management. If you're expecting to start working in an office environment where you get to wear a suit and tie, and use your brains to work with numbers and apply what you learned with your four year degree in whatever business field, this is not the place to do it. You're stuck in a warehouse surrounded by boxes, walls, no chairs to sit for the long 50 hours/week you're expected to work as a Supervisor after the training program. One last point. No A.C and expect to work very long hours.
