Pros

You get to learn a lot about general IT knowledge as well as specific areas like setting up a phone network or how a logistics program works.

Cons

You have to deal with users who don't know much about computers and we are open 24/7.

Pros

DSC is rated as a top 3PL company. This translates to growth and opportunity for employees. We consistently receive announcements regarding promotions and recognition for team and individual accomplishments. The medium size of the company provides learning opportunities as well and broadens job skills for individual careers.

Cons

The logistics industry in general is not as well know as other industries.

Excellent Organization with Plenty of Opportunities for Growth

Pros

DSC is a very flat organization, providing lots of opportunities to work on visible projects. Process improvements are approached with a collaborative 'all hands on deck' mentality. It is not unusual for the CEO or SVPs to go out on a Distribution Center floor to speak directly with associates. Employees that are interested in expanding their skill sets have opportunities to do so given the variety of projects available. New ideas, new technology, and innovation are always welcome. Several of mine were implemented after management review.

Cons

Because the business is constantly 'on call' for our clients, the work flow may not always be evenly paced. Some work weeks are standard, others involve evenings and weekends, particularly during a start-up. Within the past year or so, several well-liked executives retired, however, the new leadership team has hit the ground running and is truly engaged.
