Lame Ducks in Upper & Middle Management. Great Worker Bees.

Pros

Working at Horwich, the worker bees are terrific! I've made life-long friends! Work is as good as you make it.

Cons

Senior and middle management are mediocre at best, and won't move out to make room for better talent. Critical thinking is resented. Fosters and enables the bullies.

Pros

Great benefits and Vacation/sick time. Great people, fun environment. lots of autonomy in certain roles. HR people are helpful and friendly. Leadership tries hard to remain connected to staff.

Cons

Social services agencies all suffer the same, they lack the cash to hire outside so they promote people from within, occasionally resulting in people moving into jobs they're not qualified for.

The staff is caring, kind, patient and helpful. The job is at times challenging but ultimately is incredibly rewarding.

Cons

Not a good job for people uncomfortable with the elderly.
