Pros
It is a job at least. If you are new to the work force take the training for a year then either put up your own shingle or land a position with a smaller practice (you will be happier there).
Cons
Not one of the large prestigious companies but wants to act like they are. Low pay for the hours they really want. My self-employed health care benefits were better. You would think a "larger" company would provide better but it was actually worse coverage. Going back to being self employed worked less hours and will be able to give my clients better and more efficient attention.
