Hard work, but a lot of fun.

Pros

Good pay and benefits. Enjoyable management group. The challenge of steelmaking is like no other.

Cons

Zero work life balance. You had better love making steel. Expect 16 hr days routinely. 60-70 hours a week is normal. Environment is extreme; if you aren't into that, this is not the place for you.

Pros

They provide great benefits. My immediate supervisor is easy to work with and understands work/life balance. Frequent company provided lunches. Good annual or bi-annual bonuses. Most people you interact with are super friendly and outgoing. The company as a whole is very successful and innovative and they typically show that they care about their employees, which is not something you find very often in companies of this size.

Cons

I feel like sometimes there is a lack of directness in communication. People will say or do one thing when they actually feel or need something else and then will complain about it behind your back. There are some people in management that will steamroll the needs of their direct employees in order to give outside companies what they want or demand.
