Pros

Country is very flexible in permitting time off to create a balance between your personal life and work. These are also interested in keeping their employees happy and healthy, so they allow you to go for walks during the day to keep yourself healthy and happy, as oppose to just sitting in your cubicle all day.

Cons

Country is a very slow moving company and this is especially apparent in its IT technology. This has the advantage of being slightly more stable but the disadvantage of being far less exciting to work for. Updates in software and hardware are far and few between.

Pros

Family oriented, financially conservative, and comfortable environment. Although the benefits are average, they do have a very good pension plan.

Cons

It's difficult to move up because employees stay in their jobs most of their careers. For many employees, it's the only job they'll have in their career. While it's an excellent quality for a company, I found it closed several opportunities.

Pros

Like most large companies, COUNTRY prefers to hire from within and makes job postings available to current employees prior to posting them externally. Therefore, if you get your foot in the door and you are smart and talented, you can move up (or sideways) quickly. I started in the Billing call center, was there 13 months, and then moved to a salaried position as an eLearning Developer. After 10 months I was offered a promotion within the job family and a huge raise, but I am leaving for even more money and less busywork at another company.

Cons

This is more about my specific situation: I was only at COUNTRY for two years and can't fairly speak about the company as a whole. I was going above and beyond my job description and training all my peers in the department, but I was at the bottom of the payscale. My boss and her boss recognized this when I started to look at other opportunities, and offered me a new title and a huge raise, but it was too little too late.
