      Reasonable pay and bonus structure.

      Cons

      Long work days. Management expects non union employees to work all hours and be available weekends and evenings. Doesn’t reward you for extra time. Treats people as a number not as people. Puts shareholders before all employees. Micromanages.

      -> Lots of opportunities to change roles within Finance and outside into other groups at CP (lots of people rotate around and its encouraged) -> Advancement is based on ability/merit, not about being in a role for a certain amount of time -> Finance/Accounting is important part of the company and the team helps drive results across the entire company. -> Stable company, backbone of the economy, lots of opportunities to grow -> CP is an integral part of the North American economy so there is always something interesting going on. -> Strong ESG credentials - I didn't realize that train transport is the most fuel efficient/green form of transportation in the world. -> Lots of freedom to make improvements to processes, etc. and to feel like you are adding value to the company

      Cons

      -> CP is not the company to work for if you want to 'coast' The work is challenging, but it will be rewarding
