Pros

I've worked at CRB for an accumulative four (4) years having taken a brief hiatus in 2017. After having left CRB and then come back allowed me to see both sides of the fence to speak. I learned very quickly that my coworkers at CRB are not only colleagues, but part of my family of friends. I could not be happier at such an amazing place to not only work, but also thrive and grow. I love the culture of having a small office within a medium sized company. You will always have resources to reach out to for questions. But at the same time, it is also a space of creativity and a chance to solve technical challenges in a unique way. I've worked in numerous capacities at CRB, but enjoy plumbing and piping design the most. If you are lucky enough to work at CRB, you will have an opportunity to pick your own career path in which to grow and succeed. You will make friends who will always have your back.

Cons

When first starting at CRB, it was very easy to say yes to everyone and take on too much work. Since then the office has had significant growth, and has started to have weekly meetings to discuss work load and availability. It has become easier to off load work onto others and focus on priorities that require my expertise. At the beginning the work given to me was mindless and unsatisfying. As my experience grew, the work I was required to perform was more unique and creative. You have to give CRB time to grow on you. For any new employee, you may be bored the first month or so until you are placed on your own project. But give it time. After a while, you will have plenty of work. It can become difficult to find a work life balance. Recently "FUN" was added to our core values. We have plenty of social hours, group lunches, and summer outings, and events to socialize and relax. The dynamic of the CRB Boston/Medford Office has significantly changed over the past one (1) to two (2) years. Older reviews from previous employees that have not experienced the new company structure may no longer be relevant. Due your due diligence and speak to a current employee with any questions.

Pros

I've been at CRB for a year and a half in an engineering role. After taking some time to settle into my role within the company along with gaining a solid comprehension of CRBs methods and procedures, I feel I have been given a strong basis to take on more complex work and leadership opportunities. Limited layers of middle management has allowed me to feel more in control of my work and my direction compared to my former 100,000+ personnel employer. I also enjoy that CRB pushes folks to get involved in various parts of the business outside of my specific technical role like project management, marketing/business development, and looking for new employees. They really like folks who can execute their work at their desk but also be able to represent the company in some external capacities. I also like the flexibility they have provided. You aren't on call here and can work from home occasionally.

Cons

CRB is a place for people to sink or swim. You need a healthy amount of drive to be successful here. You won't have your hand held. Initiative required!
