Pros

- Great summer job for students - Work all in-doors, with AC, helpful in summer - weekly pay - diverse range of products and events, I found some new things to try out personally

Cons

- event specialist job is only available part time, meaning you won't really get the hours you want if you're looking to make a lot of money. Some weeks events are extremely slow and there might not be work at all. - you mainly work independently, it may get boring standing at a booth on a slow day - lack of advancement - depending on your direct manager, communication system might be a bit broken. I've had two different managers before, and one of them has always been extremely difficult to reach (never responding to emails, not picking up the phone, not responding to voicemails). However, the other manager I had afterwards was great with emails and voicemails, but still didn't pick up the phone too often

Pros

Freedom to set own schedule.

Cons

Erratic hours based on the whims of the client. Could go from 30 to 12 hours a week with little to no warning. Trying to motivate and work with apathetic individuals in the stores to complete goals.

Pros

The work is creative, wonderful customer interaction, and you learn as you prepare!

Cons

Generally, there are no cons, unless you had the managers I had. The first one was very Borderline Personality Disordered, expecting praise and accolades or else she would beat herself up. The second supervisor ran the place like a drill sergeant, using punishments and rewards and public shaming and verbal harassment of the staff, including me
