Pros

The co-workers and a place to get started in your career.

Cons

Horrible pay for the work performed. Each account is required to be it's own profit center and I worked on the "premier" account of DuPont and yet we were never given brand new laptops to use - we only ever got hand-me-downs that were always out of warranty and would frequently break - the senior managers of the account would have a new computer every 1-2 years but the people who actually do the work within the account never had new computers to use - no matter what Line of Service (PMO, Tcom, Desktop Support, Midrange, Mainframe, etc). I was without a laptop for over 3 weeks because CSC did not have anyone from tech support to fix it. CSC cut back so badly that it put desktop support of CSC employees behind desktop support of DuPont employees - this is no joke - it did and continues to happen there in Newark, DE. I was then given a 6 year old laptop to replace the 9 year old laptop that could no longer be fixed - and here we are working in the Project Management Office of the "premier" DuPont account getting this kind of service from within CSC - can you imagine how bad the service is to CSC customers/accounts when CSC employees are taken care of in this manner??

Pros

Co-workers are very helpful and willing to share information and help each other get the information needed. They do provide good benefits (although not as good as the company I came from). There are opportunities to use the latest technologies and experts that will gladly share information with you.

Cons

Too much management directive and not enough feedback from those actually doing the work. Too much overhead to follow all the processes and procedures which affects productivity. Its difficult to get the training you need to do your job, except when its audit time, then everyone is scrambling to show that lots of training has been done. It seems like there is curtailment of training budget the majority of time.

Pros

Flexibility of working from home and being able to schedule your time around your daily needs. Would be a great job for a stay at home mom or father. Co workers are supportive in your development to become successful within the group.

Cons

Poor management decisions hurt employees, very low possibility for career advancement, a poor sense of commitment to the company, and high turnover.
