Pros

Great work life balance, mainly because you have nothing to do. Employees abuse the liberal telework policy. Office location is cool, new building with a gym.

Cons

The company is shrinking and has been for over a year, cuts made left and right, no raises or bonuses given, bogus yearly review process that is an exercise in futility. Frankly, the company has stalled and failed to invest in itself and its capabilities to sustain its growth. The company's exec staff and overhead are really too large to support its small number of contracts left. The staff is mainly 50-60 yes old plus and are retired from the FAA, the company seems to have no interest in getting young talent or ideas. There are very few opportunities for growth and the company feels like caste system, those who are already at the top will remain, regardless of the lack of performance. The health insurance is really expensive, minimal 401k match and a small number of PTO days. Lots of employees that do absolutely nothing, yet get recognition for their "contributions"

Pros

There WERE some great people working there Nice corporate gym membership deal Not a bad location. Right by the metro

Cons

It's a long list It's a sinking ship. Between contract cuts, budget cuts, layoffs, and voluntarily leaving, there have been a ton of people leaving. All but one VP left, probably near 50 people have resigned/been let go over the past 2 months. No trust in upper management. They have made terrible decisions with everything and are a main force behind why people leave. The FAA (the main client) told CSSI that it refuses to work with certain people in the high ups. All the experienced people/people who have been there years are leaving. Not only are they leaving, but they're leaving on bad terms. CSSI has made a lot of former employees into enemies that not only talk bad on the company to everyone else, but also ones that are legitimately looking to take work and people away from the company. It's reputation is tarnished. There is also a huge problem with cronyism and favoritism. A few higher ups are incompetent, big reasons for the problems, and stuck in an old system, but they won't ever be fired by the CEO. In fact, they're able to get other fired to protect themselves.
