Pros

Not the hardest work I’ve ever done. Most of the people are awesome to work with. The pay is good sometimes.

Cons

Trainmen & Engineer are treated like the scum of the earth and we’re the one on call all the time and away from home with no schedule only one held accountable for anything that happens on the railroad. The pay like I said was good sometimes the problem is on legitimate claims on Work they want deny them or pay what they want to pay day by day.

Pros

Pay, benefits, railroad retirement, coworkers are big pros but that's about it.

Cons

They're always trying to fire you for anything and everything, work/life balance is terrible, always on call until you have the seniority to hold a "scheduled" job but can be bumped by a senior employee anytime, frequent furloughs, weak union, poor morale, ungrateful management, you pretty much have to call in sick just to get a day off.

Pros

Learn great skills. Get to travel.

Cons

No time to enjoy life, Just as quick to fire you as fast as they hired you. Even though its a Union job, Unions has no power because they are bought out and at the mercy of the Facist Company. Many accidents have happened due too fatigue because of working long 12 to 15 hour days 6 days a week. Every year you get a 3% raise thats wiped out by the union increased fees and healthcare increase.
