Pros
+ Base salary is decent for the area. + Health benefits are good (health, dental, vision). + Scheduling time off is pretty easy and loose. + Better than being unemployed. + CEO is a nice guy.
Cons
- You're going to work 50-60 hours a week because your non-engineering managers promised a project in too little time. - Nepotism runs rampant at the company; if you aren't a Parsons you won't be moving up further in corporate or even getting things purchased on time. - Company treats technicians (both part time and full time) like cattle. Lay them off every couple of weeks and then hire them back two weeks later to save a dime. - Bonuses are trash and "incentives" can rarely be achieved without working through constant weekends. - Upper level management can be outright condescending, angry, and demeaning when they feel even slightly stressed. - Takes pretty much half your life to get even one more week of vacation from the initial two weeks. - If they don't have a family member to fill a role, they choose the cheapest person on the market. - They are increasingly outsourcing all areas of the business overseas.
