Excessive performance metrics that often feel unrealistic and stressful. Maintaining a healthy work-life balance is challenging. Full-time employees are expected to have near-open availability, yet weekly hours can fluctuate dramatically — 40 hours one week and as few as 15 the next, sometimes spread over six days. This makes it nearly impossible to hold a second job. While good managers do their best to accommodate, it’s difficult for them to do so consistently in an environment with high turnover and constant budget constraints caused by CVS’s lack of staffing stability.
