Pros

The pay and benefits are ok.

Cons

You do it all! Very strict payroll budgets. Most stores on minimum hours. That's 1 manager and 1 employee for most hours that the store is open. The employee runs the register and photo lab and the manager does everything else. I mean everything. Working the truck, layout changes, displays, customer issues, price changes and all other front store task that come down daily. 14 hours days are the average.

Pros

Large multi-national company, multiple locations to choose from, room to grow, easy to not do anything, stock options, room for improvement

Cons

Contractors are treated poorly, acquisitions are viewed as secondary citizens, lots of feet dragging, most processes are top heavy, time to accomplish things in excessive

Pros

Pay is average for the position. Benefits (health and prescription coverage) is good. 401k and other retirement investment options such as stock purchase are good.

Cons

You are on your own: no training, no training hours/budget, no help (one cashier is all you will have to run a 12000 sqft store,) very little input into merchandise selection (company does not care nor ask for your input even though you are the one in direct contact with the customer,) you will be paid based on a 44 hours work week but expect to work 55 -60 due to call offs that you must cover, small hours budget (197 hours for a store open 98 hours and that includes your 44 hours lol.) Expectations are unrealistic (example: sales are budgeted/forecasted up by 3 percent but your hours/payroll budget is cut by 4 hours a week??) How do you maintain customer service levels and expect to grow the business while at the same time cutting hours year after year??
