Pros

if you get lucky you might make friends, you get a 30% discount on non sales items.. it was pretty close to home for me. a first job that will suffice i guess.

Cons

pays awful, room for growth is awful, fairness and respect non existent. you're worked hard for a pitiful wage & it feels like high school the way the staff is so catty. everyone is disposable no matter how good a worker

Pros

Help people and at the same time learn a lot about medications. Not boring, since it is fast paced most of the time. They work around class schedule if an employee is in college, and they give you the day off if they know an exam is coming. A lot of diversity in the team. Paid training. Some customers are truly enjoyable to serve. Discounts.

Cons

They expect a lot from their employees (which they should), yet their wages are barely above minimum pay. Employee must pay for their certification test (it is not really a "cons," it is that most people assume the company will pay for it.) There is preference (in my experience), who gets more hours depending how buddy a person is with the scheduler. Employees gossip a lot about other employees, and that makes it uncomfortable. I felt the company didn't care about me nor the customers, they cared a great deal about making as much money as possible. Some customers are horrendous, and there is nothing you can do but smile and still be attentive.

Hard working teams with a family feel

Pros

Most people go out of their way to help one another regardless of "job duties" and there is definitely a feeling of working for a company you're proud of.

Cons

Depending on what department you're working in you can expect to be over-worked and possibly deal with fluctuating schedules which can wreck havoc if you have a family.
