Pros

This company has a great corporate culture and values. They have good training and are supportive to employees. They encourage community service through an employee volunteer program. Most of my experience was very positive though there was a couple of personnel problems locally. I thought that there was a lot of growth opportunity if you were surround by good team members, especially if you were willing to relocate.

Cons

Salary is a little low though if you have the support of your immediate manager you can make a bonus. In my case that didn't happen but know of other offices where they did make the bonus.

Thank you for taking time out of your day to post a review of our organization. We are pleased to see that the training and support you received as a team member worked well for you and you felt there was room to grow within the CWS Apartment Homes. We are continuously evaluating our pay structure to ensure that we are competitive and we do believe that bonuses should be achievable with the hard work that goes along with it. Again, thank you for the feedback.

Pros

Diversity within the community residents and direct deposit are the only pros and that's being nice

Cons

Training is a joke. They send you to Austin for a week and you learn basic bland generic common sense information which helps you for about 20% of the actual job. The management team cares about numbers but the actual leading team who work daily for those numbers. There is never a "job well done" but a you're doing this wrong fix it ! Very unethical in the way some employees, residents, and prospects are treated. Management prequalifies people before they even sit down to ask for leasing information. HR is a joke and never gets back with you. Upper management will never return calls until it's too late. You are forced to attend all resident events even when management decides to leave early. I'm glad I left it was a horrible experience.

We wanted to take a moment to thank you for your candid feedback. We are saddened that your experience while a team member was a negative one. We are glad to see that you did appreciate some of our technologies such as direct deposit. One of our core values is a “Respect for People”, what that means to us is simple; we treat all people that we interact with in any capacity fairly and with respect. You mention under the “Pros” that our communities reflect diversity. This is only possible by treating each person fairly and without prequalifying. The Training Department and Human Resources are a great support to the onsite team, we invest time and dollars to train associates for a week as well as on going courses being offered weekly. Our Human Resource Department continuously monitors turnover rates and conducts exit interviews to make us better at being a great management company. We sincerely appreciate your input and will strive to make each associate’s experience a positive one

Pros

They take employees on outings.

Cons

In my experience, this company is extremely poorly managed and very greedy. They will cut corners and budgets wherever they feel instead of spending money to properly train and develop their employees. There is no job security with this company. They are always understaffed, but they do no want to pay to employ the necessary amount of people. They spend ridiculous amounts of money to take employees on useless outings and overnight stays to have meetings about imaginary changes they are going to make that never happen. Management is very stuck in their ways and are very archaic about they way they run their business. Do not expect your ideas to be heard. Management has their favorites and if you are not one of them don't expect to go anywhere with this company. The benefits are some of the worst I have ever seen. Their medical plans cover NOTHING until you've paid a ridiculous amount out of pocket. Do not waste your time using your talents for this company.

Thank you for the feedback you have provided regarding your work experience with our organization. We are happy to see that our company events were something you enjoyed. We do dedicate dollars to developing associate as seen in our new hire orientation that is held for one week in Austin. Our benefits are competitive for our industry and we are pleased we can offer them to each of our associates. We are sorry to hear that you experienced turnover that created stress and increased your workload. We try very hard to retain associates, as we believe they are the foundation of company. We understand our associates are what make CWS a great place to work!
